189. I.L. ST - JOHN - & COS - BLACK - INK, (unlisted), Ohio, ca. 1840 - 1860, aqua, 10-sided, 3 1/4h, open pontil, inward rolled lip.
Lightly cleaned to perfect condition.
Obviously extremely rare (possible even unique) as we have not seen or heard of another!
St. John was a druggist and patent medicine dealer in Tiffin. Ohio, selling Nerve & Bone Liniment, And Cough Syrup among others. Considering the rarity of this ink his venture into the ink business must have been short lived! Don Fritschel Collection.
